Within walking distance you'll find the Emily Dickinson Homestead, the Strong House Museum and the many other galleries and museums associated with the various colleges.
The Lord Jeffery Inn is surrounded by an array of beautiful villages and towns, farms, rivers and fields. The Pioneer Valley has all the charm and restfulness of a traditional New England community, along with the vitality, cultural and leisure attractions of a major city - a blend you'll rarely find duplicated elsewhere.
Concert and stage productions (many in our own garden courtyard) are plentiful during the year in Amherst. Summer theatre, antique shows and places of historical interest range from the Berkshire Theater Festival in Stockbridge, the Williamstown Theater Festival, Jacob's Pillow Dance Company, Tanglewood (the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Mount Holyoke Summer Theatre and UMASS Concert Series, to The Hancock Shaker Village, Historic Old Deerfield Villages, Sturbridge Village, and the Porter Phelps Huntington House, all close by.
